Why trust this directory
Most "best of" lists are ads in disguise. Ours starts with the Queensland Building and Construction Commission licence register and the Australian Business Register, then each builder's own website and their public Google rating.

Most new in-ground pools in SEQ land between $45,000 and $120,000 installed. A plunge pool can start around $30,000, a mid-size fibreglass pool is typically $45,000 to $75,000, and a custom concrete pool usually starts around $70,000. Site access, rock, slope, fencing and landscaping move the final price more than the pool shell itself.
Search the builder's name or licence number on the QBCC Online Licence Search. A pool builder needs a QBCC licence in the right class (for example Swimming Pool Construction and Installation, or a Builder licence) for work over $3,300. Check the licence is current and look for any disciplinary history before you sign.
Fibreglass is faster to install (often 2 to 4 weeks on site), smoother, and usually cheaper upfront, but you are limited to the moulds a manufacturer makes. Concrete takes longer (often 8 to 14 weeks) and costs more, but can be any shape, size or depth and suits sloping or tight blocks.
Allow 2 to 4 months from signing to swimming for most fibreglass pools and 3 to 6 months for concrete, including design, approvals, engineering and construction. Wet weather, rock and council approval times are the usual causes of delay.
Yes. Comparing builders and requesting quotes is free for homeowners. Builders can list for free too. Some builders pay for a Sponsored spot, which is always labelled and never affects the editorial rankings.
Rankings use a published formula: Google rating adjusted for the number of reviews, review volume, whether the QBCC licence was confirmed, and how complete and verifiable the business details are. Nobody can pay to move up the rankings.
